We would like to say a massive thank you to Springwood Uniting Church and to our very own volunteer Karon Coombs for their recent fundraising efforts.
On Sunday 24th November, Shared Reading NSW was the nominated charity for the proceeds of Springwood Uniting Church’s Sounds of Sunday concert program. The program was an eclectic mix of classical and choral performances with choirs from Warrimoo, Lawson and Blackheath taking to the stage to sing classic, contemporary and world anthems to the delight of a full house. One of our volunteers Peta Williams also gave a beautiful rendition of some of her original compositions. You can find her music here.
The concert raised over $1000 towards our volunteer programs. This is a wonderful achievement and very generous support for which we are extremely grateful. Also in attendance was Karon Coombs (another of our multi-talented volunteers) who offered to sell who wonderful book The Grief Journey in order to raise proceeds for Shared Reading NSW. She sold a lot of books and made over $300 for our cause.
Thank you so much Karon for your generosity and for using your creative gifts to help us end loneliness!
If you would like a copy of Karon’s book, it is available through Amazon here.
If you would like to help us help more people with the power of Shared Reading, you can make a donation to our organisation online here.
Thank you so much for your generosity and support.
